Weezy rules as his new album Tha Carter V debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 480,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music, marking the third-biggest debut of 2018 (in weekly units, behind only the bows for Drake’s Scorpion and Travis Scott’s Astroworld).
Wayne previously peaked at No. 49 on the Artist 100 in April 2017 (also the last time he had appeared on the ranking).
On the Billboard Hot 100, Tha Carter V‘s “Mona Lisa,” featuring Kendrick Lamar, launches at No. 2 and “Don’t Cry,” featuring XXXTentacion, bows at No. 5, making Lil Wayne the first artist ever to debut two songs in the Hot 100’s top five simultaneously.
Cher debuts at No. 2 on the Artist 100, as her new set Dancing Queen soars in at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with 153,000 units. The set of ABBA covers starts with the biggest sales week for a pop album by a woman in 2018.
Logic re-enters the Artist 100 at No. 3, as his new set YSIV starts at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 (167,000 units).
Rounding out the Artist 100’s top five, BTS jumps 7-4 and Drake dips 4-5.
