The Smashing Pumpkins have revealed that their 11th studio album, Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun, is set to arrive on Nov. 16. The band also released a new single, titled “Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts),” on Friday (Sept. 14).
The upcoming album marks the first time in over 18 years that original founding members Billy Corgan, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin, and longtime guitarist Jeff Schroeder will be featured together on an LP.
The eight-track album includes “Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts),” the follow-up track to “Solara,” which was released back in June. The guitar-driven alternative track harkens back to the band’s roots circa “1979.” The accompanying lyric video for the track features Corgan’s handwriting transcribing the lyrics in tune with the song’s progression.
The Smashing Pumpkins will be heading overseas next month to perform in London at Wembley Sadium on Oct. 16 and in Bogota, Italy at Unipol Arena on Oct. 18. Once the two dates are wrapped, the band will be coming stateside for a intimate homecoming show at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom on Nov. 30.
