Man shot by ATF agent while arrest warrant being served northwest of Tucson

A 65-year-old man was shot and wounded early Thursday by an ATF agent during the service of an arrest warrant, officials say.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the shooting that happened about 5 a.m. in the 12700 block of North Antelope Road, near North Trico Road and West Avra Valley Road.

No agents were injured.

The wounded man was taken to a hospital, but his injuries have been decried at not being life-threatening, said Deputy James Allerton, a department spokesman.

Allerton said early today that he had no information about the warrant or the circumstances that led to the shooting.
