Gerard Piqué has announced his international retirement as Spain’s soccer player, and Shakira is showing her support on social media.
The 31-year-old made the announcement on Saturday (Aug. 11), saying that he is retiring as Spain’s international player and that he will concentrate on Barcelona for the next three years. Piqué made the last of his 102 international appearances in Spain’s World Cup last-16 loss to Russia.
After the news was revealed, Shakira showed her support on Instagram, writing: “Love, a stage that we will always keep in our hearts is done. One of the happiest moments of my life has also been seeing you win in 2010 with the national team and celebrate with Spain.”
Shakira is currently in the U.S. with the El Dorado tour, which this week will visit Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Miami.
